The Batman: A Gritty Reboot That (Mostly) Works
Matt Reeves' "The Batman" had big shoes to fill, and while it's not perfect, it largely delivers a compelling and gritty take on the Dark Knight.
Robert Pattinson's Batman is broody and intense, perfectly capturing the character's tormented spirit. The supporting cast is equally strong, with Zoë Kravitz's Catwoman and Paul Dano's Riddler being particular standouts.
Reeves' Gotham is dark, atmospheric, and feels ripped from the pages of classic Batman comics. The action sequences are thrilling, and the mystery elements keep you guessing.
My main gripe? The film's length. At nearly three hours, it starts to drag in the third act. A tighter edit would have made for a more impactful experience.
Despite this, "The Batman" is a must-see for fans of the Caped Crusader. It's a fresh and exciting take on a beloved character, and I can't wait to see what Reeves does next in the sequel.
